Earlier this month, Prime’s Chief Program Officer, Anna Goldstein, joined peers at the New Private Markets Investor Summit, the leading gathering on thematic investing across private markets. Anna spoke at the workshop “How to Build a Good Impact Strategy,” where the discussion focused on what makes an impact strategy credible in today’s market.

Prime’s Claudia Leon, Assistant Director, Impact, joined ReFED and CapShift for a virtual panel on catalytic capital intermediation. Claudia shared insights on the role of catalytic capital in addressing critical climate-related investment gaps.

The Trellis Climate team just closed out another whirlwind New York Climate Week (NYCW). More so than past years, 2025 was a special celebration for the team and our partners. On Monday of Climate Week, we announced the launch of Vensurety with GreenieRE Coalition (read the press release for the details). The timing of the launch sparked lots of invigorating discussions and set a tone of curiosity and excitement for the rest of the week. The Trellis team also had the opportunity to promote the launch at several events, including the Node FOAK Summit and the InnSure Climate Forum.

The Prime Coalition team was on the ground at New York Climate Week 2025, engaging with a wide range of investors, founders, and ecosystem partners to better understand how catalytic capital can advance climate solutions. Across panels, convenings, and fireside chats, our team explored key themes in climate finance, adaptation, resilience, and the scaling of first-of-a-kind solutions.

We were honored to be invited to and have Ellie O’Malley of Prime’s Impact Team attend the 2025 Louisiana Climate Donors Group convening in Baton Rouge to support Prime’s deepening understanding of Louisiana’s climate challenges.

On September 8, Gigi Alsaadi presented her work as a CRANE Fellow at Prime Coalition during the final poster presentation of her Master of Environmental Science (MEnvSc) program at the University of Toronto. Her studies focused on environmental policy and legislation, project management, and science communication—skills she has applied directly in her fellowship at Prime.

Our team traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for our annual in-person retreat in May. This year’s gathering focused on deepening our working relationships and learning about the unique environmental challenges facing local communities, along with the inspiring efforts to address them.

Our Chief Growth Officer, Keri Browder, along with our Chief Program Officer, Anna Goldstein, attended The Rockefeller Foundation’s climate convening on impact integrity at The Bellagio Center. They left feeling energized and deeply humbled by the passion, insight, and collaborative talent that was present.

Project Frame and Climate Collective explored emissions impact measurement and beyond during a workshop titled "From Intent to Impact: An Experiential Workshop on Navigating Climate Metrics & Reporting," at the Mosambi Climate Conference on March 20, 2025. 

This session delved into the complexities of impact measurement, with a particular focus on the challenges and potential solutions surrounding Adaptation & Resilience (A&R) and the evaluation of climate co-benefits.

The Prime Coalition’s Impact Team recently wrapped up a rich and energizing week in London for the Systemic Investing Summit 2025, where they deepened relationships, explored new ideas, and connected with a global community of peers committed to systems change through systemic investing.

Jordan Metro, Manager of Impact Accountability at Prime Coalition, recently contributed to a joint webinar hosted by the American Evaluation Association’s (AEA) Social Finance and Environmental Program Evaluation Topical Interest Groups, where he led a conversation around the Climate Finance Impact Measurement and Management (IMM) Playbook—a new resource being built by Prime and Climate SMILE designed to lower barriers to entry and provide practical, accessible IMM tools across key impact areas, including GHG mitigation, adaptation & resilience, biodiversity, Just Transition water, and circular economy.

The Trellis Climate team has been busy, recently announcing catalytic investments in Nitricity and Tandem PV while deepening our connections within the first-of-a-kind (FOAK) climate infrastructure ecosystem.

At this year’s Yale Philanthropy Conference, themed “Catalyzing Change,” Prime Coalition’s Executive Director, Sarah Kearney, participated in a panel alongside Sheena Strawter-Anthony, Director of Impact Investment Strategy at the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund. Liqian Ma, Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing Research at Cambridge Associates and Prime Fund Advisory Committee member, moderated the discussion. The conversation centered on “the evolution and challenges of impact investing in philanthropy.” Together, they explored the promise of catalytic capital—how philanthropists can deploy charitable dollars while offering the possibility of financial recovery—and how it is distinct and also complementary to mission investing among returns-prioritizing investors.

This year, Trellis Climate organized a two-part panel “Achieving Speed and Scale: Financial Tools for Catalyzing FOAK Climate Projects” at Verge 2024 in San Jose, CA. The session was focused on highlighting the role of corporate partnerships for supply, plant construction, and offtake in bridging the commercialization gap.

Lara Pierpoint, Managing Director of Trellis Climate, took part in the 2024 Carbon Removal Capital Summit in San Francisco. This summit, organized by Santander CIB in collaboration with the XPRIZE Foundation, brought together global leaders and experts in carbon management to discuss pivotal strategies for rebalancing Earth's carbon cycle.

Lara Pierpoint moderated a panel titled Innovative Financing Models for Carbon Removal Projects, alongside four incredible women who are unlocking new approaches to finance CDR, including Annalise Downey, Head of Climate Consulting at Sylvera, April Allderdice, CEO of MicroEnergy Credits, Nicole Pasricha, Head of Climate and Impact at ALMA, and Shirin Jamshidi, Director of Investments, Asia, Middle East, North Africa at the DFC.

Members of the Trellis Climate team, including Managing Director Lara Pierpoint, Principal Emily Lewis O'Brian, and Principal Lee Scott, spoke at several New York Climate Week events while also attending a dozen sessions focused on the critical capital gap faced by climate technologies as they scale for impact. The Trellis team’s active participation in these conversations around First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) climate projects brought forward invaluable insights on the challenges and opportunities for accelerating the transition to a net-zero economy by supporting FOAK projects.
