Climate Investor World Fund Highlights Prime’s Project Frame and CRANE Tool as Resources for Assessing Impact

Project Frame Steering Committee Member Morgan Sheil points to Prime programs as resources to support consistent and transparent emissions impact analyses for climate investors

As Frame members know well, methods and practices used for assessing emissions impact can vary greatly from one investor to another for a multitude of reasons.

In a recent blog post, Morgan Sheil, Head of Impact at World Fund and Frame Steering Committee member, reminds us: However you choose to assess emissions impact, it’s important to do so with consistency and transparency for honest analyses. 

In the post, Sheil highlights how resources, like the CRANE Tool and Project Frame’s GHG Impact Resource Dashboard, can support you in these efforts.

The CRANE Tool, co-created by Prime Coalition and Rho Impact in 2020, is the only free, open-access web platform available to evaluate forward-looking climate impact. CRANE is used across 90+ countries by more than 6,000 users, who have generated over 123,000 reports to date. The tool standardizes the evaluation of emerging technologies' emissions impact potential, and has a custom model feature, enabling investors, accelerators, and entrepreneurs to make informed climate investment decisions by leveraging data from over 200 existing technologies. 

Project Frame’s GHG Impact Resource Dashboard is a product of Frame’s 2023 Data and Tools Working Group, which World Fund co-convened. The Dashboard aims to simplify forward-looking emissions impact assessment by compiling tools, services, and consultants that assess emissions impact,
