Alban Yau
Senior Associate, Impact
Alban contributes to Prime's development of climate impact priorities and systemic practice. His works help guide the prioritization of catalytic opportunities with a systems lens and the design of coordination mechanisms with other stakeholders.
Besides wearing his practitioner hat at Prime, Alban is also a Research Affiliate at the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative, advancing the theory and practice of systemic investing. His publications have been used around the world for capacity-building programs and thought leadership in the emerging field of systemic investing. Before coming to the US, Alban worked as a systems mapper/modeler and a facilitator for systems change, responsible for the sense-making of systemic challenges and multi-stakeholder dialogue in Taiwan. Alban had also worked in the social innovation and circular economy industries, both of which are complex adaptive systems that our linear, reductionist thinking is ill-suited for. Alban holds an MSc from the MIT System Design & Management Program and a Sustainability Certificate from MIT Sloan, where he focused his research on the intersection of resource allocation and systems change.
